Schuler is one of the world's leading manufacturers of presses and forming technology, headquartered in Germany. The name stands for the highest quality, durability, and technological excellence. SMG (Süddeutsche Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft), now part of Schuler, is particularly known for its expertise in hydraulic press systems.
-
Press force
1,000 tons
-
Forming area
5,000 x 2,200 mm
-
Bandwidth
1700 mm
The press force corresponds to approximately 9,807 kilonewtons, making the press suitable for demanding industrial applications. This force is equivalent to the weight of about 5 jumbo jets (Boeing 747) acting on the tool surface.
Applications
The properties and power of the SMG HP1000 press allow for the forming of various materials such as:
-
High-strength steels or thick plates
-
Complex contours or stiffening elements with a high degree of deformation
(e.g., for the automotive industry)
-
Large-scale components
with considerable surface area
Key Features of the SMG HP1000 Press
Pulling cushion
- Function A drawing cushion simulates the gas springs of a production tool during deep drawing, allowing precisely defined counter-pressures to be set during the prototyping process.
- Use: It prevents typical deep drawing errors such as Folding at the edge or Floor ripper through uncontrolled reflow of material. The drawing cushion is therefore indispensable for the production of high-quality, complex, and deep hollow bodies.
Extendable work table
- Function The table on which the heavy sub-tooling is mounted can be moved out of the pressing room. Often, such systems are designed as double or exchange tables.
- Benefit (Enormous Increase in Efficiency):
- Setup time minimization Heavy tools weighing several tons are positioned on the table by an overhead crane and then moved under the press.
- Safety and Ergonomics: The movable press table improves ergonomics and accessibility during tool setup. Tools can be set up outside the press's working area, which increases process safety and improves setup quality.
