Man holding engines

Hydraulic press from Müller Weingarten with 630 tons of pressing force and drawing cushion for large-area forming components with high forming degrees and demanding contours. Equipped with a modern Beckhoff control system since 2024 and ideally suited for future-oriented prototype projects.

  • Press force

    630 tons

  • Forming area

    2,500 x 1,500 mm

  • Bandwidth

    1000 mm

The pressing force is approximately 6,180 kilonewtons, making the press suitable for demanding industrial applications. The force of gravity corresponds to the weight of about 4 jumbo jets (Boeing 747s) acting on the tool surface.

Applications

The features and power of the Müller Weingarten hydraulic press enable the forming of various materials such as:

  • High-strength steels and thick plates

  • Complex contours or stiffening elements with a high degree of deformation

    (e.g., for the automotive industry)

  • Large-scale components

    with considerable surface area

Key Features of the Müller Wingarten Hydraulic Press

Pulling cushion

  • Function A drawing cushion simulates the gas springs of a production tool during deep drawing, allowing precisely defined counter-pressures to be set during the prototyping process.
  • Use: It prevents typical deep drawing errors such as Folding at the edge or Floor ripper through uncontrolled reflow of material. The drawing cushion is therefore indispensable for the production of high-quality, complex, and deep hollow bodies.

My current office used to be my childhood bedroom because I grew up in the family business. After my training as a tool mechanic and my studies in industrial engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering, I combine a passion for technology with practicality, and together with our team, I develop sheet metal prototypes for the automotive and aviation industries.
